What a busy blessed month we had in September. God has placed so many people in our life and we are so thankful for all He is doing through each person. The first St. Augustine Care Fest took place on September 22nd and under the anointed direction of John Clifton we were adopted by Coquina Community Church for a day. Their team worked very hard and we now have a handicap ramp at the refuge. If you are interested in learning more or being a part of the next Care Fest, you can visit the web site http://www.carefeststaugustine.com
God finished up September by blessing us in two special services on the 30th. We attended and shared in the Sunday morning service at Pine Street Baptist Church in Hastings. Then we attended the Sunday evening service at Trinity Baptist Church in Ocala Florida. We are still praising and thanking God for his abundant blessings on the refuge, and we are very thankful to include you in these blessings.

Are You Looking For Help?
It’s a joy when God brings people to pray and give so that we can continue the ministry at the Women’s Refuge. This past Sunday Sarah, a resident gave her testimony on how Jesus set her free from a life of despair to victory in Him.
I trust that you also are walking in His Victory everyday. I am reminded of the verses in
1st Corinthians 15:57 – 58.
“But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in
The work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.”

A New Beginning
There are places a woman can go if she is fleeing from domestic violence or seeking a remedy for substance abuse or homelessness. However, there are women in crisis that may not fall into one of those categories and need much more than weekly counseling can provide.
For these women, The Women’s Refuge of St. Johns County is a sanctuary where they can start over with a new understanding of God’s plan for their lives. It is a home-like environment where trained Christians, using Scripture-based solutions, help women develop long-term goals and heal from spiritual and emotional wounds.
The Women’s Refuge welcomes women who come from any background or economic status and will admit their need for God’s answers in their lives.
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”
II Corinthians 5:17

Can we help you?
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new." II corinthians 5:17
Our Objectives
We seek to reconcile women to Jesus Christ and to develop with them a challenging life plan.
For each woman, this would include:
· Discovery and acceptance of God’s unfolding plan for her life.
· Healing from situational trauma or spiritual or emotional problems.
· Awareness of her God-given gifts and how they fit into God’s plan.
· Realistic acceptance of her circumstances and a willingness to change them if possible.
· Appreciation of others and awareness of her responsibility to help them.
· Guidance in how to appropriately express her feelings.
The Program
Residents as well as women in the community participate in the Women’s Refuge program.
Throughout the week, the program includes:
· Bible study of the Christian basics.
· Group sessions discussing how the “exchanged life” in Christ can empower each woman to start her new life and leave behind the negative elements of her former life.
· Individual discipleship.
· Training in job skills, home management, financial planning, fitness, and nutrition.
You Can Help
The work of the Refuge is funded by donations from individuals and churches, fundraising activities, and contributions from women who are able to defray some of the costs of their stay.
We welcome those who live in this area who wish to volunteer with fundraising, helping in the maintenance of our facility, and/or becoming a sponsor family.
We greatly appreciate your prayers and financial support.
